is a Delhi based Pianist and Composer. He is well versed in Western classical and Jazz, and loves to explore Indian film music.
He studied under the expertise of Mr. Ronald Laloo and later under the director of Delhi School of Music – Mr. John Raphael. His work is heavily influenced by the greats like Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Chopin, and not leaving behind the Indian maestros like AR Rahman and Illayraja.
Birraj completed his schooling from Modern School, Vasant Vihar and his BSc(H) in Statistics from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University. He was a key member in Crescendo, the Western Music society, and Sound Design Head at Effulgence the film society.
A TedX Performer, Birraj released 2 EPs in 2020- At Odds I And II. With over 20k streams on Spotify, his listeners span across Asia, Europe and America. He continues to create and release music independently.
He was a part of The Revisit Project (2018-2020), contributing to 2 full length albums with over 100k+ streams on Spotify. He has played over 100 shows Pan-India at festivals like Zomaland, Levi’s Lounge, High Spirits- Pune, Indian Jazz Circuit, opening for Sheldon d’Silva, Louis Banks, Mood Indigo- IIT Bombay, Tarang- LSR and the likes.
Along with notable performances within India for the Embassies of Germany, Netherlands and France, IHC, IIC, and UNESCO, Birraj has International shows under his belt as well- The Esplanade Theatre in Singapore, and at The Floating Island in Seoul. He is a regular performer at The Piano Man Jazz Club and PVR Home, and is set to make an appearance in upcoming web series “Six Suspects” directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia on Hotstar.
