New Delhi: Teamwork Arts’ Jazz India Circuit (JIC) is back with its 2018-19 season, featuring path-breaking contemporary jazz musicians from India and around the world, who continue to push the boundaries of the genre.

What was a tribute band until a while ago, bringing to life old Hindi film classics of composers such as RD Burman, OP Nayyar, Madan Mohan and AR Rahman, with a jazz and funk twist, has now begun to dabble with the genre of funk.

New Delhi: The 2018-19 season of Jazz India Circuit (JIC), curated and organized by Teamwork Arts, kicked off on Friday with a dazzling JIC Launch Concert held at One horizon Plaza, DLF5, Gurugram. 


The contemporary Japanese Nagai Restaurant and Cocktail Bar will host Delhi-based indie singer and songwriter Angad Katari, along with pianist Birraj Taneja and drummer Akhil Kumar. Katari will be playing some original compositions that have an acoustic feel. The 90-minute gig, which will also have covers, will mostly be a blend of indie pop, country, rock, alternative and blues.
